We are out to make the most of home advantage– Zimbabwe’s Esrom Nyandoro

Zimbabwean international Esrom Nyandoro says he and his teammates are confident of getting the win they need to shoot down The Swallows of Burundi in the return leg of the 2013 Orange Africa Cup of Nations second qualifiers to be played this weekend in Harare. The Mamelodi Sundowns defensive midfielder toldCafonline.com ahead of the match that they are more than ready for the visitors.
Cafonline.com: It’s the return match against Burundi, how are you feeling going into this encounter?
Nyandoro: Personally having played in the first leg I feel obliged to play better this time around. We should have won when we played away in Burundi, but all is not lost because we still have the chance to win here at home and go through to the last stage of qualification.

Cafonline.com:  What is the mood like in the Warriors  camp?
Nyandoro: Everyone is very positive and we are staying focused. We have had disappointing results in the last two week but we are not looking at that we are looking forward to a positive result a win this time round.
Cafonline.com: So, nobody needs to motivate you for this type of match?
Nyandoro: Well not at this stage. Those of us who are senior players of course will try to keep the younger players motivated and to work as hard as possible to encourage each other. Our program has been tight but we are saying, this is a must win game.
Cafonline.com: What do you think you need to do to win on Sunday ?
Nyandoro: We need to stick to the game plan. It is important that when you have a strategy you execute it well. This is a sign of true team work. Burundi may expect us to be tired and unfocused and we will capitalize on that because we are indeed focused.
Cafonline.com: In the preparations for this match what are you finding most valuable ?
Nyandoro: There are a lot of new players that have been called up, young and fresh players. This has made our team balanced and more stable. As one of the older players we know how important it is to be well supported and in the mid-field we have players like Tinashe Nengomasha who has experience and plays a very tough game.
Cafonline.com : If you do not win on Sunday you are out of 2013 AFCON, what will that mean to you?

Nyandoro: We are not planning on losing the match so I can’t really say. This is a must win game. We are playing at home and the supporters a hungry for a win from us. We should not disappoint, we have the advantage and we will make the most of it.
