HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK/CNN) - A lightning strike during a soccer game killed two men and injured a third Sunday.

The three men were hit by lighting in Houston while taking shelter from the rain under a tree near the edge of the soccer field.

One man died at the scene and a second was pronounced dead at a hospital.

A third man is being treated for burns and is in stable condition.

The National Weather Service has recorded 11 deaths from lighting strikes this year.
