Following the death of the president of Ghana Professor John Atta Mills who was taken ill on Tuesday, July 24th 2012 at the 37 Military hospital; the Vice President of Ghana Mr. John Dramani Mahama has been sworn in as the president of Ghana. 

Mr. Mahama would serve the remaining term of the late President John Atta Mills which end December 7th, 2012. 

Mr. Mahama was born in the Northern Region of Ghana on 29th November, 1958. He is married to Mrs. Lordina Mahama and they have seven children together.
