Yanga beat Azam to retain CECAFA-Kagame Cup
Tanzanian side Yanga completed a successful defence of the CECAFA-Kagame Cup after beating rivals Azam 2-0 in the final of the 2012 edition on Saturday in Dar es Salaam.

Yanga scored in each half to achieve the unprecedented feat of becoming the first club to win the championship, designed for clubs in Central and East Africa on the trot since 2002.
Uganda-import Hamis Kiza broke the deadlock on 44 minutes before Said Bahanuz sealed victory on the stroke of full time to aid Yanga cruised to their fifth title overall in the annual regional championship.
The champions received $30,000 for the feat whilst Azam, the rising force of Tanzanian football pocketed $20,000 for placing second.
In the third place match, AS Vita Club of DR Congo beat APR of Rwanda 2-1 to claim bronze that came with a monetary reward of $10,000.
The tournament is organised by CECAFA and has been sponsored by Rwandan President Paul Kagame since 2001.
