Shallow end grave: Tragic whale found dead in swimming pool
This monster of the deep lies forlornly in a seaside pool.
The young adult humpback whale had been dead for several days when it was washed into the sea water swimming pool after storms at Newport Beach, near Sydney, on Australia’s east coast.
Surfers now fear the smell of the carcass could attract sharks and put their lives in danger.

Authorities hope the high tide will carry the whale, which measures 11.6 metres and weighs 30 tonnes, out to sea.
