Coming off of a storm-filled night that left debris and trees down everywhere around Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, the players were actually able to get through their third rounds at the 2012 AT&T National, with many of the top golfers playing well.

Tiger Woods

Among those golfers playing well was Tiger Woods, who followed up rounds of 72 and 68 with a four under 67 on Saturday to put himself one shot out of the lead heading into the final round. It was all about the putter for Woods, as he only needed 25 putts on the day and had a clean scorecard of four birdies and no bogeys. In fact, he has improved his putting every round at this week's event (29-27-25), and I would expect for Woods to give Brendon de Jonge (the leader) a run for his money during the fourth round.

Hunter Mahan

Hunter had the lead after the second round of the event but faltered during his third round, shooting a two over par 73 to fall into a tie for fifth place. Both his driver and putter let him down on Saturday, but it was his putter that really hurt him the most, especially from five to ten feet. Mahan had a few putts within that length for birdie and par, and while he made those with ease during the first two days, nothing seemed to go in for him for his third round. That is the way it goes sometimes in the game of golf, and the real test will be whether he can keep the mental strength up and stay aggressive on the greens on Sunday. He's not out of it by any means, but will probably have to go low in order to win.

Brendon de Jonge

Brendon has been a model of consistency at the AT&T National this week, shooting a third straight round under 70 with a two under 69 to take a one shot lead over Tiger Woods. His driving accuracy hasn't been all that great, but he ranks first in the field in strokes gained from putting and sixth in putts per round. While he has been able to get away with poor drives for his first three days, it will be interesting to see tomorrow if he can keep that up or if the pressure will get to him.
